Coming from Maccy
Maccy is an excellent, fast, free, open-source baseline — if all you need is history and search, it is hard to beat. Mimer is the step up when you want the clipboard to understand what you copied: ⌘K transforms (JSON → TypeScript, decode a JWT, slugify, Base64), type-aware clips that act on git SHAs and file:line refs, and history that is encrypted at rest rather than stored in the clear.
Using Raycast's clipboard history
Raycast is a launcher with a clipboard feature; it is powerful but closed-source, telemetry-enabled, and its deeper features sit behind Pro. Mimer is the opposite trade: a focused, open-source, local-only tool that does one thing — the clipboard — with developer transforms Raycast's generic history does not.
Paying for Paste, Pastebot, or CopyClip 2
Paste is beautifully polished with iCloud sync, Pastebot has paid paste filters, and CopyClip 2 is the paid sequel to CopyClip — all closed source.
